Return of the Blogger

Sunglasses ALDO (post coming soon)
T-Shirt H&M
Skirt H&M
Shoes NEW LOOK

In all honesty, for the last month or so, with two essays, exams and a dissertation looming over my head, I have been sporting little else but my (ultra stylish) fleece onesie, so ootds would have been pointless and futile. I suppose I have some things to catch you up with...
A while ago I got really fed up with being tortured  by my body hang ups. Things had gotten so bad that it was affecting my day-to-day life, and so I started myself on a healthy diet and excercise plan. I'm very proud to say that I've lost a stone so far in a month. I was thinking of doing some weight loss/recipe posts, so if anyone is interested, do let me know...
I've been offered an internship which starts in July. Having a direction to head in after University finishes (in 68 days!) has done wonders for my confidence, I'm really excited, but I have no idea what I'll wear everyday...
I handed my dissertation in last Monday, but I still have a month of exams, so it should still be a little while until normal blogging resumes. I will however, endeavour to at least post when I can.
I also had a little tidy up around here while I was away. I'm hoping you all like the new layout and my fancy Instagram widget > (don't forget to follow)

Anyway, Outfit. I did a bit of shopping this morning with my mum. Admittedly it was for my Boyfriend's birthday tomorrow, but I couldn't resist picking a little something up for myself. This tee really caught my eye in H&M, mostly because of the little panther on it. Plus I'm loving everything oversized and monochrome at the moment, so this seemed like an ideal impulse buy. I decided to style it with simple pumps and a black skirt to keep it minimal, as the stripes seemed loud enough without having to fight for focus. I also just noticed that I look a bit like a referee. Not sure how I feel about that.

Kicks.

Blazer: Oasis via Charity Shop, Scarf: Primark,
Leggings and Top: H&M, Trainers: Nike via Amazon

Due to looming dissertation deadlines and internship applications, my outfit posts have been few and far between lately. But I'll be making a concerted effort to get back on track again.

Apologies for the weather-inappropriateness of this outfit. This is what I wore yesterday to visit my family in Bristol, where there was no snow, but plenty of rain. After literally months of searching, I managed to find the perfect pair of everyday Nikes for me. Monochrome, comfortable, retro and inexpensive. The Oceania. I've pondered getting Nike Frees for ages, but they don't tend to suit me, so I looked at other styles and came across these. Sports Direct have a great range that are on sale (I'm drooling over the neon pink and purple and yellow pairs) but if, like me, you can't find the size or the style you're after, Amazon is a good place to look.

I've never been a sporty dresser. Even in the 90s when everyone was in shell suits and Reebok classics, I wore the same lilac dungarees and floral leggings. So I decided to team them with a monochrome outfit, a relaxed tailored blazer, and of course, my trusty giant scarf. I can't wait to find other ways to wear these... how would you style them?

Wednesday Wants #4

monochrome wishlist

Knit: Topshop, Peplum Vest: New Look, Candle: Diptyque, Jeans: River Island
Shoes: Reiss, Bracelet: ASOS, Trainers: Nike, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Today's wishlist reflects my own recent conversion to monochrome and minimalism. I'm looking into redecorating my bedroom, and have found inspiration in pictures of gloriously peaceful white rooms and furniture. I'm a big believer in simplistic and minimal outfits being comparatively more elegant; and what could be more simple than black and white?

This Topshop knit caught my eye instantly, I love that the neck is somewhere between crew and V.  Peplums are perhaps my all-time favourite thing. They instantly feminize and create shape, while flattering post-christmas tums! This New Look vest is so versatile, it comes in black too.

I dragged the boy into the Diptyque boutique off Bond Street the other day, in a futile attempt to hint at potential birthday treats... I'd quite like to work there, just in the hope that the heavenly smell would infuse itself permanently into my nose. Is that even possible? Probably not...

I love the idea of ripped jeans, but they always look odd on me. These River Island beauties however, have only one rip, and they're black, so I can't really go wrong.

I spied these Reiss ankle strap babies in store while I was at Westfield the other day... unfortunately I didn't have £90 going spare, but they're so beautiful that I couldn't not include them.

After the adorable ASOS bracelet, which has cemented my adoration for their jewellery range, comes the infamous Nike Free. I have yet to decide whether or not I'm cool enough to pull these off, but at the price they're at, I probably won't have to worry about that for a while...

Since my Michael Kors watch had a battery failure, I find myself sans beautiful wristwear. As a result I've been lusting after this Marc by Marc Jacobs dream... it would definitely be more practical to get my battery replaced...
